Eatin' Out The Box!

That's right. I said it. Right now KB and Catch are probably both shitting their pants 'cuz I've been talking about this for way too long and ain't done SHIT. So here it is. What.

Most true fans of Hip Hop are also fans of good music in general, so we've teamed up with the homie KB from SubSoniq Radio to bring you "Out The Box". A companion site to All You Can Eat and SubSoniq to share what we are listening to outside the realm of Hip Hop that is worthwhile. If you're not familiar with KB and his crew, watch this:

Then click on over HERE and check out the SubSoniq Podcast. They've been promoting and supporting progressive Hip Hop for the last 10 years purely out of love for the art.

The Factory...

The Seattle City Arts Festival 2011 kicked off tonight and features a weekend chalked full of various types of music including hip-hop, rock, folk, and R&B. There are definitely a couple that caught my eye...and my cash. The most intriguing will be Friday night. Members Only has put together an interesting show at Fred's Wildlife Refuge on Capitol Hill. Dubbed "The Factory", the show is a collaborative effort between many of the upcoming artists in the Northwest. Check out what they had to say:
We set out to create a one-of-a-kind event showcasing the talent in Seattle’s hiphop scene by connecting artists in ways that have yet to be established. After gathering our friends and family, who were excited to participate in the event, we dropped their names in a hat and came out with a list of super groups that will each create an original song to be performed October 21st, and perhaps never again.
Sounds dope right? That's what I thought too. I mean check out the groups that came out of all this...

Evergreen One/B-Flat/Evan Rodd (of Secret Shoppers)

Bout to hit the Slopes...

Members Only and State of the Artist are at it again, this time around collaborating with LA based producers Ski Team to bring you Slopes. Parker, TH, and Hyphen8d did it again with this one with nice flows over piano, finger snaps and claps, some light guitar, mild horns, and what sound like Maracas. It is definitely an easy listen...a step down from the boom bap and a move towards jazzy. I can dig it, and it's free. Check it out.

Notion - 3 Songs With MTK

First of all...apologies to my dude Notion. Dude sent this through in bad homey. I'm not quite sure how this one slipped through the cracks. I met Notion a while back at The Cornerstone and got hip. Dude is nice, and you know it's hard to go wrong with MTK on the slaps. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Hit up his bandcamp for other releases.

Mayhem feat. Craig G - I Ain't Lyin

The homey Mayhem dropped a video last week for the first single from Early May 3: Mo' Retro. The track, "I Ain't Lyin" features Craig G and visuals by Tony Serrano. Easily one of my favorite joints from the tape and some dope visuals too. Waasawki and EMS do it again.
