If your ears haven’t been blessed by Middle Classic (HiPNOTT Records) yet, then you might as well just go all Van Gogh on ‘em. I mean, it’s been a few days since the debut dropped, but the only things touching my auditory receptacles are wax and the sound waves from this album. And my ears have thanked me for it. Twice.

No, he’s not from the hood, but that doesn’t mean there’s a shortage of experience for Jermiside to draw upon. Man…just caught this over at the first-stop – FAM! This. shit. right. here…this is what the fuck I’m talkin’ ‘bout!! Dope beat…insightful lyrics…I am feelin’ this one. Love the video as well; nice use of timelapse, color and effects – feels like a cross between Devil’s Advocate and The Ninth Gate (although, I didn’t know people still shot in SD – ha!).
Definitely gonna give Jermiside & Danny Diggs’ Middle Classic a listen today – if it’s a Hip-Nott release, you know it’s gotta be good! I’ll let y’all know what I hear later, but if it sounds anything like “Afraid,” I think you can guess what to expect!

Its been a good journey. Twenty-One years old, and now four records deep! I can honestly say I enjoy making music more than anything in the world. The dopest part is that this is just the beginning! My second full-lenth album is already in the works…

mixes old school hip-hop production with samples from an eclectic mix of artists like Grizzly Bear, Florence and the Machine, Feist and others to make bangers that can appeal to anybody from a dancing fiend to a top-down, wind-in-your-hair, cross-country roadtripper.I'm not usually one for "mash-up" type material but this is kinda dope. It's not necessarily a "mash-up" in the sense of the Jay-Z/Linkin Park type, but more adding hip-hop production to some indie rock and then letting Classic rhyme his own lyrics over top. The first single from their mixtape "A Rapper In Denial", Forgot (feat. Florence and The Machine) dropped last week and Crossroads dropped on Tuesday. We were introduced to these Aussies last fall, during a weekend of depravity and disorderly conduct in Seattle. Some adventures included, but were not limited to: public intoxication (duh) and/or urination, heckling Detroit Lions fans (not smart, they could have burned the city down), flying objects in the bar, and just having fun at other people’s expense. I hope I didn’t hurt anyone’s feel-bads. Anyway, you can read all about that HERE.
We chilled with BLISS N ESO for a little bit after the Swollen Members show, and they were real nice dudes. They just laughed when Benny told them we got too hammered at the Seahawks game and missed their set, and they weren’t even pissed when they realized Mad Child had given their Heinekens to these two annoying Juggalo kids. It’s a long (and weird) story.
Back to the matter at hand, they just announced their 4th Studio Album: “Running On Air” coming late July. Take a listen to the first single, and stay tuned.
