End of the Year Award #3

Once again we're late.  This was supposed to be posted last Friday, but the Disco Three just came out of their food comas.  You know how it is.  Anyways, without further adieu, we give you the third installment of the 2008 End of the Year Awards: Best Video.

Plenty of choices here, and we didn't restrict it to music videos either.  Imagine the possibilities... but get your mind out the gutter.  First up, Willy Dough:

Roc Boyz-Jay-Z

I always had a thing for live horns and drums in songs ala Cool Breeze "Watch for the Hook." I like the fact that Hova came back with this as his first song from American Gangster. This video was like a mini movie to me, I was wondering how it was going to end.  I liked the roaring 20's theme, people having fun reminded me of some old Biggie videos just a typical Jay swag.

Wale - W.A.L.E.D.A.N.C.E.

Man, where to begin with this one.  One of the hottest rappers out there, check.  Sick beat, check.  Saved By the Bell reference, check x 3!  But the reason for the award is the video, and Wale spared no expense on this one - or at least Mark Ronson spared no expense.  The graphic work in this shit took a whole of time, and even more money.  In summation: dope-ass song + dope-ass video production = my 2008 Video of the Year!  Enjoy:

The Knux - Bang! Bang!

So this was more than a little tough for me to decide. I mean there are just so many good videos out there. I mean there is this, and this...oh shit, and lets not forget this, but eventually I had to settle on something. Can I defer until the second half? It finally came down to 2...the first loser and the winner...

The song is dope, I like the idea of the whole "Outsiders" theme, and it is a pretty crisp looking video...then again, an Emmy award winning producer I am not! Peace.
